Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

This outdoor amphitheater, also known as The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands, is surrounded by lush forests and offers an array of contemporary entertainment, performing arts, classical performances, popular music, modern opera, ballet, and educational outreach programs in 50 to 65 events each March through December.

This first-class facility was envisioned by The Woodlands founder, George P. Mitchell, and his wife Cynthia Woods Mitchell. The Pavilion opened on the last weekend in April 1990 with a weekend studded with stars and performers including Frank Sinatra, the Houston Symphony, and Alabama with Clint Black.

The Pavilion is also the Home Away from Home of the Houston Ballet, the Summer Home of the Houston Symphony, and a presenting venue for the Texas Music Festival Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera and the annual Children’s Festival, among others.
