The local economy in and around The Woodlands, Texas is showing continued signs of economic prosperity and growth. Just recently, The Houston Chronicle reported on the continued growth happening in the area surrounding The Woodlands.
Spring, Texas is a small but growing community just eight miles away from The Woodlands with a large amount of development taking place. These planned new developments will be a quick drive from The Woodlands and provide many useful amenities for The Woodlands residents.
Spring Pines Shopping Center – Kroger signed on to be the flagship store of this large shopping center that’s currently under development. Along with food, this 123,000 square food Kroger location will sell apparel, housewares, gasoline, and include a pharmacy. In addition, there will be 50,000 square feet of other restaurants and shops.
The Market at Springswood Village – This master planned, 2000 acre community full of shopping and mixed development use is expected to open later this summer. The Market shopping area also has Kroger as its flagship store, along with plans for a Banfield Pet Center, Chick-fil-A, Tarka’s Indian Kitchen, Supercuts, and Cold Stone Creamery. In 2018, a full service hotel will also open. The entire community also will include offices and housing.
Grand Parkway Marketplace I and II – Two Grand Parkway Marketplaces across the street from each other are under development, and Marketplace I is finishing construction and 80% leased. Marketplace II is under development to begin construction. Both developments total 75 acres and will be anchored by Target. Other retailers signed on include Starbucks, Ross Dress for Less, America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, PetSmart, and CVS.
